Miami University’s College of Education, Health and Society’s alumna Natalie Klem (Klotz) is a 5th grade math teacher at LEAD Prep Southeast, a middle school in Nashville, Tennessee. Although her students are only middle schoolers, Natalie is already hoping to inspire them to think about their dreams of college. To boost their excitement, students are allowed to buy college gear and apparel from the school store using merit points that they earn. “They absolutely love wearing t-shirts or buttons representing different colleges or carrying bags from a college they love!” reflects Natalie. This year Miami University vendor Uscape Apparel agreed to donate 200 Miami branded t-shirts to the cause. Below is her homeroom class sporting their gear. Congrats on a great program, Natalie! What a great way to inspire students to dream about college.
